GO DODGER BLUE!

THE DODGERS CLINCH THEIR DIVISION!

September 25th . . . the Dodgers played San Diego Padres tonight in the 3rd game of the series and lost, but it didn't really matter. They clinched their division when Arizona Diamondbacks lost their game earlier in the afternoon. YEAH!! Glenn is a happy boy!

He went to the game with my boss, Chuck, and Chuck's stepson, Bryce, and one of Bryce's friends. They had great seats (4th row from the Dodger dugout).

Glenn took Bryce and his friend, Kevin, to the players area after the game to hopefully get some signatures. They got a lot of the rookies to sign balls and hats, but none of the regulars signed autographs. They had a great time though and didn't leave the ballpark until 11:45pm! Can you believe Glenn stayed up that late on a work night!! It's the Dodgers, baby!!

CA State Rally and Big Bear

Glenn and I rode to Victorville, CA today to the California State Rally - sponsored by HOG. We had not been to a State Rally and really thought it would be fun. Victorville is about 2 1/2 hours away.
We paid $45 each for registration. We bought 2 tickets for a quilt raffle, but you had to be present to win and the drawing wasn't until 7:00pm. I also bought a rally pin to put on my vest. If we had pre-registered, we would have received a t-shirt and a pin as part of registration. There were 4 local rides posted that were self-guided, and they had a poker run. We were really excited to see what kind of vendors would be at the event, but they said Harley doesn't allow too many vendors because they want you to purchase merchandise from the local dealer. There were only about 7 vendors in one building. There was a concert planned for the afternoon, but no one we had heard of. All in all, we were disappointed. Next time we'll know that these rally's are basically to get you in the town and have some rides mapped out so you can see the area.
We went to the Victorville Harley dealer - Glenn bought some new gloves and a HD belt buckle.
After that we headed to Big Bear and took the back route that was well worth the time. It was beautiful scenery on winding roads to the Lake. Michele and Tyler happened to be there. There was an event called Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails, and the company Tyler works for, Neff, had a tent set up. They were giving away stickers and beanies. We hung out for a while and headed home. We rode 366 miles. It was a great day!
Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails Event at Big Bear. They bring in snow and put up jumps and handrails. It was fun to watch.

Vacation - August 2008

Glenn and I flew to Michigan to visit our friends, Dennis and Debbie. We hung out at their house for a couple of days, then we hopped on the Harleys with another couple who flew in, Bruce and Debbie. Destination: Harley-Davidson 105th Anniversary in Milwaukee! We started in Grand Rapids, MI and rode north around Lake Michigan. It was a great being with our friends and riding in areas we've never seen. Awesome!

At Miller Park in Milwaukee - look at the sea of
motorcycles behind us! This was the Harley
Owners Group (HOG) 25th Anniversary. We
saw Kid Rock and Sugarland.

Glenn and I at Summerfest in Milwaukee. There were vendors all over the sidewalks and bikes all down the streets - it was amazing! We saw ZZ Top perform.

Our route took us north on the coast of Lake Michigan - Frankfort, Traverse City, Petoskey, over the Mackinaw Bridge where we crossed just as the sun was setting and we spent the first night in St. Ignace. The next day took us through Epoufette, Manistique, and Escanaba and spent the second night in Green Bay. The third day we checked in to the Blue Harbor Inn at Sheboygan which was our "home" for 3 nights. The Anniversary activities took place in Milwaukee which was about an hours drive from Sheboygan. I've never seen so many motorcycles on the road! After 3 days in and around Milwaukee, we kept riding south around Lake Michigan, through Chicago (great skyline) and back up to Grand Rapids.

The weather was beautiful the whole trip. We thought there would be rain at least one day, but we were lucky. Our trip ended all too soon and we flew back to CA on Labor Day. We will start planning our next road trip with our friends.

Entering the Blog World

I like my cousin Kim's blog so much that I thought I would start one and see how long I keep it updated! It will be a good way to share photos with our families in Georgia, Florida, Ohio, Colorado, Oregon, etc. As you can tell by the "post" time, I'm a night owl. Glenn goes to bed early and rises early. I too have to rise early for work, but have a hard time going to bed too early. Hope everyone enjoys the blog!

Ashton's Baptism - September 14, 2008

Family Photo: This is the first family photo we've had taken since last Christmas. It's so hard for everyone to be in the same place, at the same time, dressed up!

This was taken at Ashton's Baptism - Ashton is our newest cousin (Kim and Ron's second son).
We spent the day with family at the church for the baptism and ate lunch afterward.
